Indian head massage

What will happen during the treatment?

During your Indian head massage therapy, you may remain clothed at all times. You may sit on a chair or your therapist may choose to place you on the massage table. It depends on your area of focus and what will allow your therapist to give you the best results.

The massage usually begins with the upper back, where a combination of deep massage and pressure points help to relax the muscles and to loosen and melt knots. Moving through the shoulders and upper arms further releases the common spots for holding stress and tension, and then working deeply into the neck where tension accumulates relieves headaches and improves cerebral spinal fluid circulation. Moving up to the scalp, techniques are used that stimulate, relax and revive the whole of the head, increasing circulation and promoting healthy hair. Finally, the treatment may include a gentle face massage with techniques that help circulation, skin tone, and sinus and headache problems.

If you wanted to add onto your relaxation session, then you could always include RF therapy on top of this standard treatment which is where we apply a gentle heat to rejuvenate your skin whilst sending you into a deep relaxation.

Is there a consultation processs?

Yes. If you have a computer, to save your treatment time, we’ll send you a consultation form to complete before your appointment. When you arrive we’ll chat through this to fully understand what you would like to get out of your treatment. We will then decide together on a treatment plan. If you would like to tie this in with reflexology which is also highly effective for stress-related disorders or nerve reflexology for pain, then please let us know and ensure you book enough time.

Why wouldn’t I be able to have an Indian head massage?

You are having a migraine at the moment

If you have an infectious disease

Suffering with a fever

Why would I not be able to have an Indian head massage?

There are a few illnesses which mean an Indian head massage would not be the best holistic therapy for you. In this instance, we wouldn’t be able to treat you with an Indian head massage, but there are plenty of other therapies that would be more suitable and we can help and advise you in making the best choice.

Please Note:

Indian head massage is a totally safe and complementary treatment (it does not replace medical treatment). If you are in any doubt at all, please consult with your GP prior to treatment.

I came to see Karen after booking in for a double massage for myself and my partner (he's had massages before, I... haven't) and am amazed at how much of difference one session has made already. Karen and Charlton made us feel comfortable immediately and were both so friendly and warm. They were professional throughout and dealt with both our needs separately. We're both keen to visit again. Both obviously very skilled at what they do.Highly more

Following my liposuction and tummy tuck surgery, I had lymphatic drainage and deep tissue massages at Essential... Feelings. Charlie was very professional, made me feel relaxed and knowledgeable about what I need to help with healing after surgery. He was very helpful, flexible and a good communicator. I would recommend them for anyone requiring post surgery massages and will go back for other types of massages. Thank you Charlie and more

I have always wanted to try reflexology but usually opted for massage instead. However, now I've experienced two... reflexology sessions with Karen, I think I'm a convert! Both sessions have left me feeling calm, restored and well rested. I also had to change the time of my first session and Karen reponded really quickly and was happy to adjust it. I'm really happy with the service and am definitely going to be a new regular more

I’ve always been skeptical of massages and whether I’m receiving one that’s beneficial for my body as well as worth the... money. I have to say I wish I could give more than 5 stars because Essential Feeling is hands down one of the best massage treatments I have received as well as worth the money. Being currently pregnant too, I was worried that I would be in more pain after the massage however Charlton ensured that my deep tissue massage was tailored to my needs as well as helped with any stiffness and back pain I was experiencing. Karen was also super helpful during my reflexology massage, ensuring that I was relaxed and bought a lot of the swelling in my feet down. My mother also had a deep tissue massage from Charlton who again tailored it to her needs as she has a bad lower back as well as a lovely reflexology massage from Karen. Me and my mum felt that both massage therapists are very professional and solely cater to the needs of the client. They are both also very knowledgeable in the massages they deliver as well as any issues a person has individually with their body. Absolutely wonderful service and wonderful massages! Will definitely be making a return!read more
