Where will I be treated?

Your massage or reflexology therapy will be in a comfortable, calm treatment room with soft lighting. You will then be treated on the most appropriate specialist equipment for the holistic therapy you have booked.

All our treatments including those for our skin clinic, are carried out at our Essex treatment rooms. The only exception to this is if you are referred from your cosmetic surgeon, in which case, you will have the option to attend our specialist post op after care location in Central London near Harley Street, just off Harley St, London.

Is there a consultation process?

Yes. We’ll email you confirmation of your booking and within that email will be a link. That link will take you through to a Google form that you’ll need to complete and submit before your session. We always ask that you give us enough time to inspect this before your session, bearing in mind that we are often working before your treatment so the day before is ideal.
When you arrive, we’ll chat through this to fully understand what you would like to get out of your treatment. We will then decide together on a treatment plan.

What do I do during my treatment?

Make yourself comfortable. If your therapist wants you to adjust your position, she or he will either move you or will ask you to move as required. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable.

Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It’s up to you. It is your treatment, whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax. Ask questions at any time.

Why would I not be able to have a massage or reflexology treatment?

There are a few illnesses which mean some holistic therapies would not be the best choice for you. In this instance, we wouldn’t be able to treat you with this particular therapy, but there are plenty of other treatments that may be more suitable and we can help and advise you in making the best choice. If you have any doubt, consult your doctor.

Why would I not be able to have treatment in your skin clinic?

There are a couple of articles that we have pulled together so you have full information on our skin clinic and who it is suitable for.

How can I pay?

Following COVID, we prefer for our clients to make online bookings and payment in advance by credit or debit card.

Here is the link to book massage online.

And here is where you can book and pay for your reflexology online.

We do still accept cash on the day following your first appointment. All initial appointments must be paid for in full at the time of booking. If you would prefer to pay by bank transfer then please do text us on 07757 946023 and we’ll be happy to provide the details. Do please ensure that you have time for your payment to clear before your appointment.

Can I claim back on my health insurance if I have a massage or reflexology at your therapy centre?

Most insurance companies are happy to work with us. The system usually means that you come for your session and pay for it. After this we will email you over a receipt which details our qualifications along with a reference code for our unique certificate which your health insurance company will cross reference with their database.

If you would like to check in advance of coming, ask your insurance company if they cover ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) for massage and MAR reflexologists (member of Association of Reflexologists) for reflexology. Both are highly accredited licences so most health insurances will cover both massage and reflexology with these certificates.

Are you a member of http://www.mlduk.org.uk/?

http://www.mlduk.org.uk/ are an organisation that train manual lymphatic drainage therapists. When a therapist qualifies with them to give treatment to a client, they add you to their online directory. If you look at their website, you will probably notice that they limit the people who do their training to a few.

And so, to be listed on http://www.mlduk.org.uk/ actually only means that you have completed your training with one of their academies, not that you are any more or less qualified than the people registered in their directory.

As we didn’t do our training with http://www.mlduk.org.uk/ they won’t list us on their site. But, this doesn’t account for the excellent training we completed, and our experience.

The same training background

Our practitioners treatment protocol is based on the same standards. http://www.mlduk.org.uk/courses-vodder-method/ states that these are the highest standards, and we agree. Our training is through the VodderCasley-Smith, Földi and LTA Fill & Flush schools accredited teachers.

So whilst we have completed a course to the standard and of the same research background plus amazing specialised massage advanced qualifications, because we don’t have their specific form of certification, issued by them, then they won’t accept us on their membership. We’ve gone through such rigid assessment to be the physical aftercare arm for several London cosmetic surgeons, they automatically send their patients to us for post op care. And yet, because we completed training by a different, leading approved training provider, they won’t add us to their practitioner directory list.

Here’s a quick fire download on what manual lymphatic drainage is:

It’s a gentle rhythmic pumping of the fluid in your body which stimulates lymph vessels flow to help drain waste substances out of your system (lymphatic nodes) and reduce lymphoedema. Surgery or other conditions, such as cancer, can cause this swelling, but the techniques are the same and just adapted to and individuals condition when we see you.

Benefits of MLD

Benefits of MLD apply to both chronic and acute conditions.

The removal of this lymph waste leads to many benefits, you can read about this in several articles we have published. Typically, you’re looking at faster healing, the ability to remain more mobile and as we’re removing toxins that would otherwise hang around this is also a simple way to avoid infection.

In addition, if you have undergone a cosmetic procedure including vaser liposuction, this will add to the overall smooth effect of your skin tone and we also have great results with our clients needing to wear their compression garments for longer if they have booked in and are undertaking regular visits.

You will always receive treatment across your whole body as if we just do one area the excess will simply hold place in another part of your body. And that doesn’t satisfy anyone’s need to vital relief.

How to book with us

To book an appointment for your MLD therapy, contact our practice in Central London near Harley Street or Romford, Essex by text or call us on 07757 946023 or book online. We have appointments available throughout the week day and weekend so will find a time that works for you. Treatments can be booked as a course or single session for you to try. And you will always have to complete and return an online consultation form before your session. We’ll discuss this with you when we see you, but in the interim if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us when we will chat through your options openly.

Finding us is easy, we will send our address along with full directions for your guidance when you book along with some answers to common aftercare questions.
