Below are a list of massage therapies we offer at Essential Feeling. Everything is the same price, we charge by the hour. This is because your therapist is likely to use a mix of their skills to give you the best possible result. For instance, we’re likely to combine myofascial release with deep tissue work.

If you don’t see what you are looking for here, it doesn’t mean that we can’t help you, just that we haven’t got around to adding the page onto our website yet. So, please do feel free to text us on 07941 668456 and we’ll come back to you as soon as we’re free.

What happens?

Before a massage, you’ll have a discussion. If this is your first time, it will be more in-depth and involve you completing a consultation form before your session. However, even if this is the one-hundredth time you’ve been to Essential Feeling, we’ll still confer with you what you need to get out of your treatment.

One day maybe you have slept in an odd position which has led to a crick in your neck. On another day we may need to deal with the effects of too much driving. These two issues will involve your massage therapist using a distinct combination of rubbing, kneading and manipulation of your muscles and connective tissues. We can help both chronic and acute conditions, a few of which are listed above.

Then what?

We’ll select the procedures that will best help your body to heal naturally based on our training, qualifications and experience.

In order to do this, they will use a variation of pressures. Some may be deep to break down damaged muscles that need to reform, others may be softer to stimulate blood flow while reducing blood pressure leading to greater relaxation.

Some approaches are dynamic and will tear through tension in your muscles using techniques used on sports people/ athletes, others will commonly soothe your skin by kneading soft tissue so you feel renewed. Others will work your lymphatic system or fascia. This is why we have a page dedicated to each of the options.

Let’s get this out there up front

There are some routine questions that we are repeatedly asked. This may surprise you, but the main one is “what is included in a full body”. Let’s be clear right off, for those of you that want it, and more importantly for those you who absolutely don’t; a full body treatment at Essential Feeling does not include your genitals. There is no hand relief. There is no happy ending. None. Under any circumstances. You are coming to a therapy practise with highly qualified and experienced professionals.

Now we’ve got that out of the way, let’s move on.

Types of professional body therapies.

For that, you’d be better to flip back up to the top of the page and check out the menu listing. We offer a ton, including prenatal — but read on first before you start your further investigation and choose.

Now we can discuss, what are the five benefits of massage? Firstly, there are way more than five, but here are the top five that are most common amongst our clients:

*Eases and gives muscle pain relief when you’re suffering with postural stress such as in your back, shoulders and neck when you’re hunched over at a desk, or your leg and lower back if you spend a lot of time driving
*Acts as a deep escape whilst lowering stress and anxiety and aids relaxation of your mind. Gives you a general piece of time out to enjoy calm relaxation and relieve a busy world full of demands.
*Boosts your immune system helping overall wellness, quality of life and wellbeing
*Massage bodywork combines different technical elements in order to promote a range of improved comfort outcomes including improved recovering time after illness or operation
*Treatments help you relax and improve the amount, and quality, of your sleep, thus improving your health. You’ll feel happier after your massage.

Is body massage good for health?

We can definitively say, as your experienced, trained and highly qualified therapists, that regular therapeutic massages which are expertly delivered, as we do at Essential Feeling, are outstanding for your health.

Plus, as a nice side effect, many say that the use of oils improve the condition of your skin and thus make you appear younger. Not saying you need it, just…

At Essential Feeling we customise our approach according to your needs. You book an amount of time and we’ll use that with massage techniques personally adapted to give you the strongest outcome. For instance, deep tissue focuses on how to treat injuries in your muscles and thus reduce pain. This is different to a more relaxing Swedish style which has longer, more soothing strokes.

There is nothing stopping us from combining the two modalities so you get the finest service.

I came to see Karen after booking in for a double massage for myself and my partner (he's had massages before, I... haven't) and am amazed at how much of difference one session has made already. Karen and Charlton made us feel comfortable immediately and were both so friendly and warm. They were professional throughout and dealt with both our needs separately. We're both keen to visit again. Both obviously very skilled at what they do.Highly more

Following my liposuction and tummy tuck surgery, I had lymphatic drainage and deep tissue massages at Essential... Feelings. Charlie was very professional, made me feel relaxed and knowledgeable about what I need to help with healing after surgery. He was very helpful, flexible and a good communicator. I would recommend them for anyone requiring post surgery massages and will go back for other types of massages. Thank you Charlie and more

I have always wanted to try reflexology but usually opted for massage instead. However, now I've experienced two... reflexology sessions with Karen, I think I'm a convert! Both sessions have left me feeling calm, restored and well rested. I also had to change the time of my first session and Karen reponded really quickly and was happy to adjust it. I'm really happy with the service and am definitely going to be a new regular more

I’ve always been skeptical of massages and whether I’m receiving one that’s beneficial for my body as well as worth the... money. I have to say I wish I could give more than 5 stars because Essential Feeling is hands down one of the best massage treatments I have received as well as worth the money. Being currently pregnant too, I was worried that I would be in more pain after the massage however Charlton ensured that my deep tissue massage was tailored to my needs as well as helped with any stiffness and back pain I was experiencing. Karen was also super helpful during my reflexology massage, ensuring that I was relaxed and bought a lot of the swelling in my feet down. My mother also had a deep tissue massage from Charlton who again tailored it to her needs as she has a bad lower back as well as a lovely reflexology massage from Karen. Me and my mum felt that both massage therapists are very professional and solely cater to the needs of the client. They are both also very knowledgeable in the massages they deliver as well as any issues a person has individually with their body. Absolutely wonderful service and wonderful massages! Will definitely be making a return!read more
