What is Indian Head Massage?
Indian head massage works on areas affected by mental and emotional stress. In Western culture today we spend much of our time in our heads, so this treatment can really help to calm the mind and is surprisingly deeply relaxing. Working with a firm and gentle rhythm it helps to relieve muscular discomfort and tension and calming the spirit and aiding relaxation, it also improves circulation in the head, enhances the senses and promotes clear thinking.

Indian head massage
What will happen during the treatment?During your Indian head massage therapy, you may remain clothed at all times. You may sit on a chair or your therapist may choose to place you on the massage table. It depends on your area of focus and what will allow your therapist to give you the best results.
The massage usually begins with the upper back, where a combination of deep massage and pressure points help to relax the muscles and to loosen and melt knots. Moving through the shoulders and upper arms further releases the common spots for holding stress and tension, and then working deeply into the neck where tension accumulates relieves headaches and improves cerebral spinal fluid circulation. Moving up to the scalp, techniques are used that stimulate, relax and revive the whole of the head, increasing circulation and promoting healthy hair. Finally, the treatment may include a gentle face massage with techniques that help circulation, skin tone, and sinus and headache problems.
If you wanted to add onto your relaxation session, then you could always include RF therapy on top of this standard treatment which is where we apply a gentle heat to rejuvenate your skin whilst sending you into a deep relaxation.

Is there a consultation processs?
Yes. If you have a computer, to save your treatment time, we’ll send you a consultation form to complete before your appointment. When you arrive we’ll chat through this to fully understand what you would like to get out of your treatment. We will then decide together on a treatment plan. If you would like to tie this in with reflexology which is also highly effective for stress-related disorders or nerve reflexology for pain, then please let us know and ensure you book enough time.
