What is vaser liposuction?
Liposuction has been around for years, but vaser is relatively new. This process still sucks body fat out, but the vaser process melts the fat molecules and fat tissues before they extracted it. This melting of excess fat as part of your surgical procedure means that it is less invasive and there is minimal damage to your surrounding tissues and vessels.
Whilst you will still swell after you’ve received the service which may result in some short-term weight gain on the scales, you’ll be happy to hear that those stubborn to shift areas will heal faster than if you’d had traditional lipo treatment.
There are specific areas where stubborn and unwanted stubborn fat refuses to move from good diet and exercise. These targeted places are the perfect choice where they recommend vaser lipo. For instance, stomach (upper and lower abdomen), posterior flanks, thighs, arms and bra roll.
What’s better is that you have a choice whether you want to be put under general sedation or local anesthetic.
What is a tummy tuck?
A tummy tuck works best where you have lost weight or your skin has lost sufficient elasticity to shrink back after e.g. childbirth. This leaves you with a saggy overhang that is best served by being clean removed and sewn back. You will be left with a light scar.
Again, just as with vaser liposuction, an MLD massage from a trained professional therapist will speed up your recovery as well as improve your results.
How do I have a massage when I'm still suffering with soreness?
You will wear your post-operative compression garment continually. Harley Body Clinic require you to have sessions as soon as 2 days after your operation. Getting your compression garments on and off is way more pain than anything you’ll experience during your MLD. And you’ll also find that as your swelling reduces faster, you’ll be in pain for less overall time.
Your lymphatic vessels lie just under the surface of your skin, so any deep pressure will crush these. An MLD treatment, which we often combine with deep oscillation therapy, is therefore incredibly light, therapeutic, and relaxing. We’d go as far as to say it’s comfortable. Particularly as you get to remove your compression garment for an hour while you have the massage. And all in the name of sculpturing those sucked contours and achieve your desired shape!

Doctor Gary HornWe first came across Harley Body Clinic when one of our clients came to us for aftercare. Their surgery was the best that we have seen in that his complications were minimal. In part this was because Dr Gary Horn doesn’t take as much fat. Whilst this may not be to everyone’s taste, it means that the patient has fewer risks; less skin sagging and generally less fibrosis as long as their surgery aftercare is done well.
When we looked into him, we discovered this was because of his vast experience. He owns the title of best plastic surgeon, having designed the primary pectoral implant in 2003. This is now used worldwide.
Having worked around the world in hospitals including Paris, he has been a consultant plastic surgeon since 2002. Doctor Horn of Harley Body Clinic, Harley Street in London, also now works out of Brussels using his over 30 years expertise from reconstructive surgery, aesthetic surgery, abdominoplasty and breast augmentation. Whilst his cosmetic expertise is undeniable, we believe the quality of his work comes from his wealth of varied experience.

The team may vary when you book in and we don’t really get involved in that side of your care.
But, when it’s time for your surgery aftercare, you’ll come to us in either Central London or Romford, Essex and then you will either get Karen or Charlie. There is no alternative. This is our business, we care about our patients and we will never let you see anyone other than us for your care.

Why does Harley Body Clinic recommend lymphatic drainage with you post surgery?
We’ve written a lot about the benefits of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) on helping the results of your contour results. Essentially, by not allowing the fatty deposition to build up, we’re improving the overall finish of your treatment.
Likewise, there are many benefits of having MLD from improving our body’s ability to heal, including reducing swelling and bruising. This is because lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle treatment that assists the movement of your lymphatic system and circulatory system. Speeding up how you heal is completely advised if you want to be caring for yourself properly. And seeing the best possible results from your body contouring outcome.
It’s common for patients who don’t have regular lymphatic drainage following their surgery to have a greater accumulation of lymph fluid (swelling) and suffer from a slower recovery. But, also their end result is often more uneven skin tone. This is because your skin tightening will only happen over what they emulsify below. And if we allow fatty deposits to settle rather than moving through your extraction system (lymphatic) then you limit your chance of you getting your personal desired result, regardless of just how fantastic a surgeon Doctor Horn is.

It is common for skin to sag post surgery as it has stretched out of shape for such a long time before you had the fat removal. We have invested in a state-of-the-art machine used by the NHS and developed in conjunction with the University of Manchester. We use this to give you the best possible results following your liposuction treatment.
