Questions & Answers
Professional microneedling devices and electroporation with a state of the art EPN system.
Microneedling and electroporation can help to improve a variety of different concerns.
Reduce eye bags
Shrink open pores
Lift eyebrows
Reduce wrinkles and fine lines
Even out scars
Tighten crepey skin tissue
Improve skin laxity and uneven skin texture
How does microneedling and electroporation work?
Ultra-fine needles penetrate the skin at different depths, creating micro-channels which stimulate a wound healing response. It works on a pulsing mechanism, rather than the rolling of derma rollers so we don’t tear your skin. And don’t worry, it’s not the excruciating pain that it sounds, it’s just enough to trick your body into jumping into action and producing new collagen and elastin, which it sends to the area we’re working. Plus, there are always topical products such as the numbing creams they use when you have a tattoo if you choose to use this before you come along.
Once the micro-channels have been created, the Electroporation technology releases electro-stimulating pulses to increase the permeability of the skin cell membrane. This allows for increased absorption of the specialist serums that we use on your skin, producing more hydrated and healthy skin.
Microneedling combined with electroporation in this unique way, significantly increases the amount of serum delivered to the skin compared with traditional microneedling sessions.
Can microneedling and electroporation be used on patients of all ages?
Yes, there is no ideal candidate. Younger skin that doesn’t require lifting and tightening can benefit from microneedling and electroporation. Cosmetic procedures can focus on specific concerns such as enlarged ports or uneven skin texture, to improve the overall skin quality.
Patients with laxity concerns can benefit from the dual effects of microneedling and electroporation. As the EPN pen offers many different needle depths and intensity settings for electroporation, types of procedures can be easily customised to every individual and the level of their concern.
Can I Combine this professional microneedling with radiofrequency energy?
Yes you can. We do this in our Romford branch.
Microneedling is minimally invasive, as it only gently punctures your skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response by producing new, collagen-rich tissue. Then on top of this, radiofrequency heats your skin deep in the dermal layer, stimulating collagen production and tightening the skin.
If you’d like to book the red light therapy, then you can do this at each session (London).
How does the treatment feel?
You start with a relaxing cleansing to clean your skin and ensure there is no risk of infection.
During the treatment there is generally minimal discomfort.
Topical anaesthetic otherwise known as numbing cream, is available for clients with sensitive skin, should they wish to buy it from a chemist and apply it themselves 45 mins to an hour before your session. As the session involves using a tool with tiny needles which are puncturing your skin, even though it’s not particularly painful, you may want to do this for piece of mind.

What benefits does microneedling and electroporation have for your skin?
Microneedling and electroporation has a number of benefits for your skin. The main aim of the treatment is to generate collagen so your skin feels tighter, smoother and softer. After treatment you will see a smoothing of visible fine lines and a reduction in the appearance of pores for fresh, bright, tight and hydrated skin.
This doesn’t use a derma roller device, so it’s less painful, and doesn’t cause the same damage to the surface of your skin. This is needling, because needles enter your skin and exit, at a rapid pace, this is what creates the healing response. But, as this isn’t laser treatment, your skin heals fast and your downtime is minimal.
How does microneedling and electroporation work to rejuvenate skin?
These treatment options employs tiny, medical-grade needles to create micro-channels that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin (collagen induction therapy).
Once the micro-channels have been created, the electroporation technology helps to increase the permeability of the skin cell membrane. This means the serums applied during your treatment will be introduced into the deeper layers of the skin for faster, more effective results.
How many sessions will I need?
Results can be seen after one session, but ideally, build on sessions with multiple sessions. A minimum of three and up to six treatments, at 4 week intervals for your safety and care, deliver the best results depending on the skin concern.

Will there be downtime?
There is virtually no downtime. A slight swelling and redness are present immediately post-treatment and will look more like sunburn that a skin irritation. It should subside quickly. What benefits does professional microneedling and electroporation have for scarring and stretch marks?
Scarring and stretch marks are very common concerns.
The process of microneedling and electroporation helps the body produce new collagen an elastin, which will minimise fine lines, smooth out uneven textures and reduce any discolouration from scars; including acne scars, surgical scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks. The electroporation technology, when used alongside advanced serums, will rehydrate the area of concern.
How does microneedling and electroporation work for scars and stretch marks?
Ultra-fine sterilized needles penetrate the skin at different depths and release electro-stimulating pules in a controlled manner, triggering a wound healing response which leads to the production of collagen and elastin. The wounds cause trauma in the skin and encourage the body to create more collagen and elastin to heal facial or body scars.

You’ll see results after one session, but we recommend at least three to eight, every four weeks to get your best results. The exact amount will depend on your skin concern, how bad, how big and how you respond.
