What is a full body massage?

In short, a full body massage is a popular type of massage experience where we cover (almost) everything. We’ll typically work all the major areas of your body such as your back, shoulders, legs, arms and neck to remove stress and promote relaxation.

If you book 2 hours and a massage which uses a lighter, more gentle pressure, then we’ll often also include your hands and feet and sometimes, if you want, your head and face.

Questions & Answers

t

What is included in a full body massage?

Your massage therapist will give you whatever modality best gives meets your needs. So if you’re looking for ultimate relaxation, then they could use long, soothing strokes which move from top to toe such as Swedish massage which incorporates a lighter touch.

However, if you’re more inclined to have tension, sports injuries, or tight muscles loosened, then we’ll use some stretch and a deeper technique to break down muscle fibres.

We will discuss all of this before your massage starts as every appointment is customised to how you feel on the day, so feel free to let your therapist know if you have a problem area that needs extra attention.

t

What should I wear during my full body massage?

If you feel comfortable in your underwear then it’s fine to leave it on, however, to facilitate long, soothing massage techniques, it’s not necessary, but it can be nicer if you remove your underwear completely. Whichever, you’ll be covered at all times with a towel or two, so your modesty will always be protected.

Either is fine.

This is totally down to you and how you will feel comfortable during your treatment.

Who will do my full body massage therapy?

Charlie, a fully certified and licenced (ITEC) massage therapist will massage you. We understand searching online for places which offer the best full body massage can be a minefield.

Rest assured, you’re booking a quality massage with none of the connotations that some ‘spas’ or ‘parlours’ offer. You can read about Charlton and his reviews here.

Is body massage good for the body?

Massage involved rubbing and manipulating muscles, tendons, skin and ligaments. It has moved beyond the walls of a light rub down in a spa to a truly therapeutic session that can aid your mind as well as your body.
Here are some of the benefits (some may surprise you):
*Healthy mind — reduces stress, anxiety and depression
*Relief from pain and stiffness
*Improves circulation (and therefore oxygen flow)
*Aids your immune system in a preventative manner
*Nourishes your skin

I’d like a full body massage today. Is that okay?

As long as we have availability then that is fine. The online booking system isn’t set up to take same day appointments, so please call or text us on 07941 668456 so we can work out a time that works. Please note text is easier for us to reply between seeing other clients.

How much does a full body massage cost?

As with all of our treatments at Essential Feeling you’re paying for our time. If you have a deep tissue full body massage ideally you should allow two hours to ensure that your massage therapists have enough time to do a proper job of warming you up before working deep into your tissue.

A lighter massage to deal with general aches or overall wellness, may be done in less time, ideally 90 minutes, because we don’t need to spend so much time with warm up.

Does full body massage include breast?

At some places it might, and some women do enjoy this, however we don’t generally include it within a full body massage although we could work your pecs. The breast is more for a lymphatic drainage massage to help reduce build up of lymphatic fluid. If we include it then, it will always be over the client’s hand which rests on top of their towel but this isn’t part of our standard practice.
