One of the most obvious signs of aging is the lack of firmness of the skin which leads men and women to want to get rid of loose neck skin. With age, our skin loses the elasticity it had in our younger years, which leads to the fact that it loosens and looks flabby.

This process is usually the most obvious on the face and neck. Although you can’t turn your hands back in time, you can be proactive and try different medical and home treatments to tighten loose neck skin.

Get rid of loose neck skin by changing your lifestyle

1 Train your facial and neck muscles.

There are several exercises that provide a good mix of stretching and training the muscles of the neck and lower face. Repeat them once or twice a day and this can strengthen your throat to make it look firmer.

Put a hand on your forehead. Press your head against him without letting it move forward. You should feel how your neck muscles work. Hold this position for about 10 seconds.

Then close your hands behind your head and press back to create pressure, and hold them again for about ten seconds. Sit with your back straight. Raise your head back so that your chin faces the ceiling with your lips closed. Then pop some chewing gum in your mouth. You’ll feel how the muscles of your neck and face work.

Repeat this about 20 times. Sit again with your back straight and lift your head up so that your chin is facing the ceiling with your lips together. This time, you’ll savour your lips in a kind of kissing movement.

Repeat this exercise twice.

This may seem similar to the first exercise, but it actually works on different parts of the neck and face. Be careful with this, because it might tighten your throat. Lie down on the bed and your head hangs on the edge. Slowly and gently lift your head to the torso with your neck. Turn it down slowly and carefully again. Repeat this about 5 times. Stop immediately if you feel pain.

2. Avoid repeated facial expressions.

Certain facial movements and expressions, such as disagreeing head tilt, can weaken adjacent muscles. Look at all the repeated facial gestures you can make to keep your neck skin firm longer. Every time you use facial or neck muscles, a groove forms under the skin. Since the skin loses elasticity over time, it can no longer fill this grove and can cause wrinkles or permanent lobes in the neck.

3 Eat a healthy diet.

There is evidence that a nutritionally balanced diet can protect the skin.

Avoiding unhealthy foods and junk can help keep wrinkles and loss of elasticity under control. Diets high in fat and sugar can slow cell rotation.

Try not to eat too many fried or sweet foods: limit your intake of simple sugar and focus on complex carbohydrates.

Foods rich in vitamin A and beta-carotene, including fruits and vegetables such as raspberries and carrots, can increase cell rotation for healthier skin. Yellow and orange fruits and vegetables are rich in vitamin A and beta-carotene.

These, combined with plenty of water, increase cell rotation, which leads to healthy skin, which is not prone to clogged damage.

Foods rich in essential fatty acids (alpha-linolenic acid and linoleic acid), such as nuts or olive oil, can help keep skin cells hydrated. Unhealthy foods also replace foods you can eat that provide the vitamins and antioxidants needed to promote healthy skin.

4. Stay hydrated.

Hydrated skin is usually bulkier and firmer and less likely to sagging or wrinkles.

If you consume enough fluid every day, you can tighten the skin on the neck. You must consume at least nine cups of water a day to stay hydrated if you are a woman and 13 cups if you are male.

Athletes and pregnant women need up to 16 cups of water a day.

Water is the best choice for your needs, but you can also drink caffeine-free tea and juices diluted in water. You can consume coffee or teas with caffeine and soft drinks in limited quantities, but keep in mind that they can dry you easily.

5. Apply moisturiser daily

Use a skin-specific moisturiser that promotes collagen and elastin production every day. Properly hydrated skin can help make the skin on the neck firmer. Even if the skin is oily, you may need a moisturizer.

Choose an oil-free and non-comedogenic product. Get advice from a dermatologist or skin care professional to assess what type of skin you have. You can buy products designed specifically for your skin type and needs at most pharmacies and retailers, including department stores and we can advise you on this at Essential Feeling.

There are many products that can not only increase the production of collagen and elastin, but can also improve the appearance of neck skin by replenishing it with products such as silicone and hyaluronic acid. Using a moisturizer with integrated sunscreen can increase the benefits of skin tightening. Apply a moisturiser every day when you get out of the shower.

6 Limit sun exposure

Ultraviolet radiation present in sunlight speeds up the natural aging process.

Reducing or avoiding sunlight can help skin maintain its firmness longer. Use a wide range of sunscreens with a high sun protection factor (at least 30) during errands or other outdoor activities.

You can also wear a wide-brimmed hat to protect your skin from sunlight. When you go to the beach or pool, you should sit under an umbrella. Use water-repellent sunscreen.

7 Quit Smoking Like sun exposure, smoking speeds up the natural aging process

Quit smoking or reduce smoking to stop the aging process of the skin, which can help it stay firmer longer. Talk to your doctor if you have trouble quitting smoking. It can help you develop an effective treatment plan.

8 Avoid sudden weight gain or loss

Gain weight can cause the skin to stretch and leave it loose when you lose weight. Sudden weight loss does not give the skin time to adjust and make it look and feel loose. Maintain your current weight or lose weight gradually to prevent sagging neck skin.

Get rid of loose neck skin with medical treatments

1 Administer topical retinoids

They derive retinoids from vitamin A, that can improve fine wrinkles, spots and skin roughness. Administering a topical retinoid that your doctor prescribes can help improve the appearance of the neck skin and improve its elasticity.

Tretinoin and tazarotenes are two types of retinoids that your doctor may prescribe. You need a prescription for a retinoid from your doctor. Therefore, check with her to make sure this is a viable option for you.

When applying retinoids on the face to ease fine wrinkles, apply a pea-sized amount of cream once a day before bedtime or at night. When using this medication, pay attention to the sensitivity to UVA light. Minimize exposure to solar lamps or sunlight. Please note that some insurance companies do not cover retinoids used for cosmetic purposes. There are some over-the-counter skin creams that contain inferior retinoids.

Please note that these are not as strong as prescription retinoids and cannot improve skin in the long term. Retinoids can cause redness, dryness, and burning of the skin.

2.Radiofrequency therapyradiofrequency facial before and after

Our personal favourite way to get rid of saggy skin on your neck (or turkey neck). Using light sources or radiofrequency treatments can stimulate the growth of new collagen in the skin with radio frequency therapy.

Take this procedure to tighten the skin on the neck and your body. Radio frequency treatments heat the underlying layer of skin cells to stimulate collagen growth. When these derma layers of your skin heals, it forms softer, firmer skin.

It’s a non-invasive cosmetic treatment to get rid of loose skin on neck and has no downtime. You’re also not putting fillers and Botox into your system.

(Please note, don’t book ablative therapies as these aren’t right for your purposes).

Please note, you have the option to tie this radio frequency treatment in with microneedling This has been proven to provide tighter skin than the radiof frequency or microneedling alone will do on their own.  Then in addition to this, if you choose, we would recommend also having iPRF or PRP depending on which you are most suitable for as the results of this on top of everything else are stunning.
