What is vaser liposuction?

Vaser liposuction is good for men and women. Despite having a healthy lifestyle with hours of training and a protein-rich diet, many men often find areas of their bodies that are difficult to tone or that are defined.

Many also find areas and pockets of fat that are difficult to remove; which, although of course, can be aesthetically uncomfortable, so many men try to remove them to get a more defined shape. High-resolution vaser liposuction, also known as liposculpture, is an advanced fat removal and reduction technique that contours and shapes your body.

Is Vaser Liposuction the same as Liposculpture or body sculpting?

Vaser Lipo enhances its natural properties for a defined and toned body. Vaser liposuction uses state-of-the-art minimally invasive ultrasound technology to accurately target and remove areas of unwanted fat. However, it is the level of meticulous body sculpting performed by your vaser liposuction surgeon that differentiates lipo vaser from traditional liposuction.

Liposculpture can create more defined abdominal, arm and leg muscles, remove fat, and tighten skin in small, complicated areas such as under the chin. At Harley Street and Knightsbridge clinics, the surgeons we know always strive to ensure that patients receive the procedure that is right for them. They understand that Vaser Lipo is not a procedure where a single technique works for everyone. That’s why they offer traditional liposuction, vaser liposuction, and non-surgical liposuction. And that’s also why we work with them and provide body sculpting with non-invasive RF (radio frequency) therapy.

The Benefits of Vaser Liposuction

VASER liposuction is a state-of-the-art fat removal technique that offers exceptional results in contrast to other forms of liposuction.

Surgical and Postoperative Benefits
  • Minimally invasive without damaging surrounding body tissue, meaning we minimise postoperative pain
  • Limited scarring, bruising and bleeding
  • Reduced downtime with faster recovery
  • Gentle enough to be performed under local anesthesia, depending on the number of areas that you may not need to spend the night in the hospital.
  • Tailored post-operative clothing guarantees optimal personalised results.

If you’d prefer an even less invasive approach then we can help there too.

What areas can you have treated with a vaser liposculpture?

Vaser liposuction is the surgical removal of fat from specific areas of the body. The vaser liposculpture procedure is so targeted that we can use it in areas that cannot be treated with conventional lipo.

The most common areas for fat removal include:

  • Chest
  • Abdomen
  • Arms
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Flanks/waist
  • Chin/neck
  • Hips
  • Buttocks
  • Calves
  • Knees
  • Ankles
  • Upper and lower back
How is vaser liposuction performed?

Vaser liposuction, also known as “ultrasonic liposuction”, because Vaser® technology generates ultrasound energy, is a minimally invasive and cutting-edge fat removal procedure.

Ultrasonic energy targets unwanted fat while preserving important tissues such as nerves, blood vessels, connective tissue, and collagen to promote rapid healing. By eliminating the superficial and deep fats that surround the muscle groups, the visibility of the underlying toning and musculature is improved.

The result is a remodeled body that is more defined and molded, giving it a slimmer, firmer and more aerodynamic appearance. For best results, it is important that your surgeon is specially trained in VASER high-definition liposculpture, or that you get a more refined version of traditional unsculpted liposuction.

Before Vaser Liposuction

From your first consultation, you will meet with your vaser liposuction surgeon to discuss your expectations and possible outcomes. During your visit, you will be weighed (you usually need a BMI of less than 28 for the best results) and your garment will be measured as required for your follow-up programme.

On the day of the procedure, the surgeon draws very detailed and precise markings on the treatment areas that are unique to the body and replicate the underlying anatomy. The markings then define where the surgical sculpture should be carried out. You will then feel comfortable and ready for operation.

During vaser liposuction

They can perform Vaser Lipo under local anesthesia with light sedation or under general anesthesia. The sedation method chosen depends on the length of the procedure and the number of areas to be contoured. The surgeon will discuss this issue during the consultation.

Liposculpture surgery has several steps

Saline Solution

At first, the treatment area(s) is filled with a tumescent anesthetic solution. This helps reduce blood vessels, minimising blood loss and reducing bruising after surgery. It also makes it easier to break down fatty tissue with Vaser Ultrasound Energy.

Ultrasonic energy

Small probes are used to transmit a wave of ultrasonic energy that breaks and emulsifies when it comes into contact with fatty tissue between the skin and muscle. This unique process ensures that other important tissues remain largely intact, resulting in faster recovery times.

This process is very specific and allows the surgeon to remove fat and engrave its contours to simulate a defined and toned body naturally.

Extraction

The liquefied fat is removed with a very small hollow metal cannula (through discrete incisions between 3 and 4 mm in size, so that scarring is minimal), which is then inserted and passed through the emulsified fat area. Then the needle gently removes fat using a suction process, which is often combined with a massage technique.

Your specialist vaser surgeon will then chisel your muscular structures to achieve a firm, defined physique. Any residual fat is naturally removed from the body after surgery, giving the end result a tighter contour during the recovery process.

After vaser liposuction

Because the surrounding tissue is minimally altered, recovery time is fast. More information can be found on our full vaser liposuction aftercare page. For optimal results and faster recovery time, we recommend a manual lymphatic drainage massage, we often combine this with Deep Oscillation therapy or Ultrasonic Cavitation to further enhance your recovery times and aesthetic results.
