Looking for MLD Essex?
MLD Essex — Based in Romford, Essex, right on the intersection of the A!27 and A12 Gallows Corner. Affiliated with top cosmetic surgeries in Harley Street and Knightsbridge we not only offer professional and experienced MLD Essex, but also in Central London near Harley Street London.
Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massage is an advanced therapy in which the practitioner uses a variety of gentle, specialised rhythmic pumping techniques to move the skin into lymph flow. We may do this manually hence the manual part of the therapy, or we could use deep oscillation to speed up the process if this is right for your treatment outcomes.
Either one of these techniques stimulates the lymphatic vessels that carry substances vital to the body’s defense and removes metabolic waste products. Your lymphatic system is a network of capillaries, lymph nodes and vessels that run the entirety of your body. They’re a little like your veins, except that they are way more delicate, running just under the surface of your skin. This means the pressure must be gentle. Too much pressure and the removal of cellular metabolic debris from your body will be impossible as we’ll crush the network.
First session
Your first visit includes a consultation although you will complete much of this information on the phone and via an online consultation form that we will send you once you have booked.
At the end of your session we will give you an idea on roughly how many sessions you will need and based on how you have responded we will decide together when your next session will be. Particularly for clients who have MLD following surgery, this may vary as you progress through your healing. To expedite your recovery journey, you can choose to incorporate red light therapy in London or vitamin injections available in Romford and London.
Each MLD Essex, or Central London near Harley Street session lasts approximately one hour. We’re used ot working with your doctor.
What are the benefits of MLD?
MLD Essex or MLD London is both preventive and curative and can improve your well-being. Ideally, we would love clients to come in for one or two sessions before they have surgery as this helps stimulate your lymphatic system to clear your body of toxins so you respond better to the treatment when you go in.
Preventative
In terms of preventative, manual lymphatic drainage massage technique removes the ‘bad stuff’ that inhibits your body’s ability to heal properly. Post surgery by moving the lymphatic fluid around optimally, we prevent a buildup of stagnant fluid which can lead to infection. Also, it means that hard fatty lumps which can congeal beneath your skin are less likely to develop and if they do are less severe and easier to move on because of the flow.
Curative and remedial
Looking at the curative side of MLD Essex and MLD London, we’re removing any fatty deposits that do develop efficiently and taking down swelling, particularly postoperatively.

General benefits of MLD Essex and MLD London
However, in addition, MLD promotes deep relaxation, the healing of fractures, ligament ruptures, sprains and relieves pain.
It can improve many chronic conditions: sinuses, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, acne, and other skin conditions. It can strengthen the immune system as part of a “detox” treatment. Relieves fluid congestion: swollen ankles, tired swollen eyes and swollen legs because of pregnancy.
Manual lymphatic drainage Essex and London is an effective part of treating and controlling lymphedema (which may occur after cancer treatment) and helps with conditions that result from venous insufficiency. It promotes the healing of wounds and burns and improves the appearance of old scars by improving skin regeneration and wound healing, which optimises the scar process and this is how MLD minimises or reduces stretch marks! It’s a shame this amazing treatment isn’t more mainstream. It’s one difficulty that we have, people don’t know about it, let alone understand all the amazing benefits.
It may also accelerate healing after cosmetic surgery, and this is what we specialise in at Essential Feeling, Romford, Essex and Central London near Harley Street.

History of manual lymphatic drainage
In the early 1930s, Dr. Emil Vodder created a unique range of movements that ease chronic diseases such as sinus congestion and cold. Since Vodder’s pioneering work, MLD has spread around the world and has become a popular treatment in many European hospitals and clinics. It is now accepted worldwide as part of the treatment and control of lymphedema.
